Studio Lighting Resources - Videos, Diagrams, Photo walks and Photo shoots

So, now that I've decided to but some studio equipment, I thought I'd get a head start on learning all about that domain. I've been doing tons of reading, researching, watching and listening - Here is a catalogue of some of the sites and resources I have run across that I found very very useful.

Websites

  • Flickr - Any type of image you want to see, just search lickr for inspiration.

Videos

  • Stuido Lighting .Net - Great resource with very informative and easy to understand videos.
  • Confessions Of a Photographer - Bert Stephani's Blog where he takes you along on some of his photo shoots. I love the way he uses small strobes to get the desired effects, even in bright sunlight... AMAZING work!!
  • Stuido Lighting Tutorials - YouTube - Very informative, and builds up from the basics.
  • Strobist - Great, Great resource for any photographer. They occasionally post videos.
  • Tips from the top floor - Everything from basic setups to DIY to contests, this is the site that got me hooked on photography.

  • Strobist - Great, Great resource for any photographer. Tons of articles with everything from setups, to DIY, to behind the scenes with other photographers.
  • Interior Lighting with Multiple Strobes - Behind the scenes with tips and tricks on how to create stunning magazine quality indoor shots.
  • Lighting Essentials - Great website with diagrams and videos on how to setup your lighting to obtain the shot you are looking for.

Blogs

  • Strobist - Again, a great resource for any photographer with a new article almost everyday.
  • Confessions Of a Photographer - Bert Stephani's Blog where he takes you along on some of his photoshoots.
  • Derrick Rice Photography - Local Ottawa photographer, with great blog, and lots of talent. Love his work.
  • Byron Brydges Photography -Another local Ottawa talent, who's blog I love visiting. I get a lot of good inspiration from his work.
