Recently I've started getting more and more comment spam. At first it started out with one every few days, now it's about two or three a day. I actually like this - for now. It's good to see some traffic to the website, even though it may not be good traffic. It's a small indicator that the site has some exposure somewhere.
After a while this will probably get irritating, but for now, I'm happy to see it... along with real comments of course.

Fri, 12/21/2007 - 00:15 I'm waiting till I can't bare it anymore, then I'll add some sort of a reducer...My blog is just gaining users, and I'd hate to slow down the commenting by adding the spam blocking tools just yet. I have noticed that there are a lot of spider that go through the site... as long as they get me traffic in return, I'm game...
Thu, 12/20/2007 - 23:06 When I moved to Wordpress from Blogger I noticed a small trickle of Spam so I implemented Akismet. It's a good job that I did because a few months later and the flood gates have opened. Without some kind of Spam protection my Blog would be swamped! Jas. http://www.jasonslater.co.uk
Thu, 12/20/2007 - 16:46 Oh, I can only recommend to get used to it. It's a omnipresent phenomenon in today's internet. The traffic is mostly caused by spiders. But I agree, it's a sign that your blog gains popularity. Good for you :)
