- 10:45 - Started the registration process. (Found the domain name, filled in all the info, ploughed through the promotonal items they were trying to sell, put in my promo code - "dltv")
- 11:01 - I push the "Register Now" button. (Money gets sucked out of my credit card and I am presented with a Thank You page.
They give you a chance to print out a recipt, and I did just that. - 11:02 - I receive a thank you for registering email along with a copy of my 'recipt', my customer number and a few other details. Again, the email is trying to up sell me dedicated hosting, and the Deluxe Hosting package (which I just signed up for...hmm.. Go figure!)
- 11:10 - Another email stating that my domain name portfolioOfPB.com has successfully been registered. The email comes with a few "Tell me how to:" links, but again, they try to sell me domains, products, and Go Daddy Gear. Easy there guys - I just paid you $120 CDN.
- 11:24 - The email I had eagerly been waiting for - Hosting Account Setup Completed. It came with instructions on what to do next, DNS host IP addresses, URLs for ftp, http, and site statistics. And just as deligent as they previously were, they tried to sell the Advanced site-builder, and Traffic Blazer®!
- Took a break for lunch, went to class, did some work. While traveling, I read more articles related to Drupal, and other CMS. (Wordpress, Movable Type, etc)
- 5:07 - Started the automated installation of Drupal, provided by Go Daddy.
- 5:14 - Received an email stating the installation was complete.
- 5:25 - Made my first blog post.

Salut!!
My second post will be about finding web hosting for this site, why I decided to go with Go Daddy, and their service and support.
So far, they have treated me very well. Registration was a breeze, but as usual they will try to sell you as many value added services as they can. i.e. .Net or .Info domains (Caution - they are selected by default), advance site-builder, extra email storage space, SSL certificates...etc.
Once you get past all that, the rest was amazingly fast.
Here is the timeline of my registration process:
