Shrimp Fest!
Among the party of six, here is the breakdown of what we ordered:
- Two orders of the endless shrimp, both with a caesar salad to start. The sides for these two meals were a baked potatoe and the steamed vegetables.
- One order of Tilapia New Orleans, with a clam chowder soup to start.
- One order of Rainbow Trout grilled with sweet and sour glaze, along with a caesar salad.
- One order of the Honey BBQ Garlic Shrimp and Chicken, with a caesar salad.
- One order of Sirloin and Garlic Shrimp, along with a caesar salad.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the two hostesses, who weren't very friendly (we interrupted their conversation!!). The wait was destined to be about 30 to 45 minutes long, but it was just over an hour before we were seated.
It was smooth sailing after, when Morgan quickly showed up at our table, and took our order (we had more than enough time to look at the menu during our wait and at this point we were starving).
The ambiance was neutral, nothing stood out. We were close to the kitchen so it was a bit noisy, but not really bothersome. Our waitress was friendly, outgoing and very approachable.
The food was delicious, except for the mishap with the sirloin (see Story/Events section). We loved the endless shrimp, especially the Buffalo Shrimp (drool!!). The Honey-BBQ Chicken was decadent, as well as the clam chowder soup. The rainbow trout didn't have much taste.
Most entrées were well proprotioned, except for the Sirloin steak (this was the only plate that looked fairly empty).
The Sirloin and Garlic Shrimp plate was very good, but the cut of meat tiny compared to many restaurants. The steak was dry and overcooked on the outside, and not "medium" like I had ordered; it was still bloody on the inside.
We told our waitress, Morgan, about this and she gladly took it back to the kitchen. She offered to bring a new plate of the same order, but I asked for a cut of chicken instead. She was very open toward my suggestion and punched in the new order.
I thought she would come back with a piece of chicken in a side plate... but she came back shortly after with two pieces of chicken breasts, a mountain of fries and steamed vegetables. At this point, I had been eating off of the endless shrimp platters that were coming in, and I was almost full.
None of this cost extra, and we came home with lunch for the next day.
